This project was a classroom exercise that focused on designing a frustration-free packaging solution for a chosen product. It catered to all aspects of packaging including identification of a product, analysis of the same, common issues, intention of the packaging and form/load study. Moreover it also involved clarity on how the designed packaging will be manufactured, folded, stacked, opened and used. The student was also expected to think of and design some basic surface graphics if required and what information it will carry. Lastly, a sound knowledge of the material used to design was required. This particular project was aimed as resolving the frustration of transporting small plants from local nurseries to one’s home. There was form innovation, material innovation as well as design that included the idea of an ‘afterlife’ here post-usage solution.
